PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

Thank you to each of you for helping make this one of our more successful Pancake Days in recent memory. I know everyone is curious in how we performed and I have some preliminary figures to share. More money is expected from our Key Clubs, member billing,
and last-minute Silent Auction collection so the final total may be a few weeks away.

We had 1,163 people attend this year while we had 730 attend last year. We raised $21,074, with expenses totaling $3,473, netting $17,601. Some Pancake Day sub-totals
were $90 in tips, $532 in book sale, and approximately $5400 in Silent Auction. It was truly a great day and Elmo thanks you.

This Saturday is Kiwanis One Day and our Club project is to help Dell McCormick’s partner agency, the Macedonia Family Resource Center, with painting his Teen Youth
Room. Please arrive promptly at 8:45 A.M. and wear work clothes. We have about a halfdozen people participating. If you wish to volunteer, please notify Dell at mccormick.pridell@gmail.com or 336-883-0300.
If you wish to work on the District Kiwanis One Day project; This year we will team up with other Kiwanis clubs in our district to spend a day here in Greensboro at McIver Education Center located at 1401 Summit Avenue on April 2nd. We will be working with the vocational rehabilitation director. They need us to do things like repair a bench, paint the entrance red, till several small garden areas and a long list of other projects we can do if we get the manpower. Wear your old work clothes & shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty or paint on. Please contact our Lt. Governor, Eddie Burks, at 336-963-2217 if you are interested in that project.

March MADNESS
Talk about a bracket buster! This past week-end did everyone in....there were only three brackets that had any of the final four getting to the final four! Mark Seagle II and Judy 1 & 2 both had UConn making it through but none of them had them winning in the semi's.....the rest of the brackets were without a single one of the final 4 making it to Houston....guess we had better stick to football prognostication! ( actually none of the tv "experts" did much better than we did...no one saw this coming! ) Since the points to be awarded have run out after all the loses this past week end, and none of the ones with UConn making it to Houston show them winning in the semi's, I will announce the winner this Friday.....no reason to wait for the championship game or even the semi's since none of us had any of them right....oh, well...better luck next year!
